About the competition

The Next Bill Gates competition is being launched by Nottingham-based IT provider, XMA. With sponsorship from their partner Toshiba, XMA has launched this new
nationwide competition open to anyone,
of any age, who is starting an IT or Business course at University in 2010 and considers themselves to be good with IT –
just like Bill Gates.

People can nominate themselves, colleagues or students by entering 100 words as to why they are the most suitable entrant.

Judged by a panel that includes former BBC Dragon’s Den star Doug Richard. Doug now runs the School for Startups, which provides intensive training for budding entrepreneurs. Competition entrants will be whittled down to a final 3 who will face a gruelling ‘The Apprentice’ style finale.

The three finalists will be invited for an interview at XMA, and will be required to submit a reference from a tutor/employer etc. Closing date for entries is 30th April 2010 and the winner will be announced in May.
